Raspberry Pi Pico W
The Raspberry Pi Pico W adds wireless connectivity to the original Pico, opening up a wide range of new possibilities for your projects. With the ability to handle remote sensor readings, remote control, home automation, mini web servers, wireless GPIO control, and much more, the Pico W takes your Raspberry Pi projects to the next level.
At its core is the RP2040 microcontroller—the same chip used in the original Raspberry Pi Pico. It features dual ARM Cortex-M0+ cores running at 133MHz, 264KB of SRAM, and 2MB of onboard Flash memory. The Infineon CYW43439 wireless chip enables Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
The Pico W is compatible with existing Raspberry Pi Pico projects, allowing easy upgrades to add Wi-Fi functionality. It can be programmed using MicroPython or C/C++ with popular editors such as Thonny. The Pico W also supports drag-and-drop programming over USB, making it beginner-friendly.
Additionally, the Pico WH version is available with a pre-soldered 40-pin header for easier integration into projects. Both versions support a wide range of interfacing options and feature low-power modes for efficient energy consumption.
