This IR reflective sensor module uses the TCRT5000 IR Sensor to detect color and distance. It consists of an IR transmitter and an IR receiver. The IR transmitter continuously emits infrared signals, which are reflected by nearby objects and then detected by the IR receiver.

TCRT5000 IR Reflex Line Tracking Sensor Module

The TCRT5000 IR Reflex Line Tracking Sensor Module utilizes the TCRT5000 IR Sensor to detect color and distance. This sensor module consists of an IR transmitter and an IR receiver. The IR transmitter emits continuous infrared signals, which are reflected by an obstacle and detected by the IR receiver. The module is often used in line-following robots and object-sorting robots due to its ability to distinguish between black and white surfaces.

The sensor’s measuring range is from 1mm to 8mm, with the central point around 2.5mm. The module also features an on-board potentiometer to adjust sensitivity. When powered on, the infrared diode continuously emits infrared light. If the light is not reflected or is too weak, the receiver diode remains off, and the output pin (DO) will be LOW.
